Hotelier Indonesia – THE ST. REGIS LANGKAWI
Introduces The Nature Walk Experience And Offers a Breath Of Fresh Air
Mysterious yet compelling, the verdant rainforest surrounding The St. Regis Langkawi beckons adventurous explorers and resident nature lovers to discover its myriad natural secrets.
Situated on the southern tip of the island known as ‘the Jewel of Kedah,’ The St. Regis Langkawi is an idyllic paradise where tranquility meets refinement. The pinnacle of elegance, this 5-star luxury resort in Langkawi is an inviting sanctuary of sophisticated island living, amidst the spectacular surrounds of centuries-old rainforest fauna and nature, exalted by the sparkling glimmer of the turquoise Andaman Sea.
Uncompromising accommodation takes the form of 85 suites and 4 over-water villas, each graciously appointed with artistic detailing and refined comforts, no expense is spared to provide our guests the best beachfront resort experience available on the island.
Experience the wondrous flora and fauna found at The St. Regis Langkawi by joining our Naturalist, John Kumaran Selva on nature walks which are conducted daily except on Wednesday and Saturday and are complimentary for all guests. The morning walk session is from 8am to 9.30am while the evening walk is from 6.30pm to 8pm.
Starting at the lobby, learn the meaningful history behind The St. Regis, and the significance of the Beringin tree and its powerful symbolism. Strolling through the resort, our Naturalist will introduce and reveal fascinating facts about the row of date trees by the poolside and assorted flowers and plants in the garden, including anecdotes about the “King of Fruits” – the durian.
As the walk wends towards and along the beachfront, he will hold you spellbound with the mythical history of Langkawi, the meaning behind its name and the archipelago’s geological evolution in the past 250 million years.
Delving into the tropical rainforest’s rich eco-system and biodiversity, he will touch on the cultural, heritage and medicinal aspects, as well as the importance of mangrove trees to the coastal areas here.
Besides an overview of the fish native to the Andaman Sea, the Naturalist will also share information about Geopark Langkawi, the eagles and different bird species found on the island and their migration patterns.
As the walk comes to its finishing point – at the roundabout heading towards the water villa – he will highlight to you the numerous types of butterflies and monkeys native to these lush surroundings.
Guests are encouraged to wear comfortable T-shirts, shorts and sandals or sports shoes. For evening walks, we recommend bringing along the torch from your suite or villa.
Please secure your place in advance through the Concierge. Each walking session accommodates up to a maximum of 12 guests. Kindly be present at the lobby 10 minutes before the walk commences. Mineral water will be provided to participating guests.
Capitalizing on Malaysia’s, and particularly Langkawi’s, unpolluted air, the Tourism and Culture Ministry announced it will promote ‘lung-washing’ tourism as one of its new initiatives under the ministry’s National Blue Ocean Strategy, launched at the recent Langkawi Tourism Symposium. Guests at The St. Regis Langkawi will feel rejuvenated and refreshed after enjoying the clean, clear and pristine air and surrounding environment.
